Cowboys Add To Offensive Line Numbers By Signing Rookie OT

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys bolstered their offensive line numbers on Friday by signing offensive tackle Cody Clay.

Clay was one of five players to work out for the team Friday morning during the team's off day. The undrafted rookie is a local product, as he's from Orange County and played college football for nearby Asuza Pacific University – a Division II school.

The team waived/injured Will Smith to make room on the roster. The linebacker, a seventh-round pick in 2014, was signed to the training camp roster last week after he was released in May.

The Cowboys are a bit light on the offensive line as a result of injuries. Third-round draft pick Chaz Green is on the physically unable to perform list after having surgery on his hip in June, and fellow rookie Reshod Fortenberry was lost with a leg injury last week.

Clay played two seasons at Fullerton Community College before transferring to Asuza Pacific.
