FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys are adding to their cornerback room in free agency, as Dallas agreed to terms on a one-year deal with former Rams CB Cobie Durant.

Durant, 28, has spent the past four seasons with the Rams after Los Angeles drafted him in the fourth-round out of South Carolina State in the 2022 NFL Draft.

In 2025, Durant played in all 17 games for the Rams, starting 15 and tied career highs in tackles (40) and interceptions (3) with a pick-six in Week 12 against the Buccaneers.

Some of Durant's best play of the 2025 season came in the playoffs, as he broke up seven passes and caught three interceptions, including two crucial interceptions in the divisional round against the Chicago Bears. Durant's three interceptions were the most by a single player in the NFL during the 2025 postseason.

Over the course of his career thus far, Durant has played in 61 total games, starting 39, and posted 141 total tackles, 26 pass breakups, and seven interceptions, two of which he's returned for touchdowns. In his rookie season, Durant's 151 interception return yards led the NFL.

Thus far in free agency, the Cowboys have signed two safeties in Jalen Thompson and P.J. Locke. Now, they add the first cornerback from the free agent market to new defensive coordinator Christian Parker's secondary.

At 5'11, 182 pounds, Durant has experience playing on the outside at corner as well as in nickel. Durant is second to only DaRon Bland on the Cowboys' roster in experience, and now joins a room with Bland, Shavon Revel, Caelen Carson and Trikwese Bridges.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Parker laid out his blueprint and non-negotiables for what he looks for when evaluating the cornerback position.

"I think you have to be physically and mentally tough," Parker said. "I think that's where he starts. We want guys that are willing to tackle them, put their hands on people in the breast, and you know they can bounce back from things that make life perfect… It's a different position. It's a lonely spot out there. You know, there's no Wi Fi."

With the addition of Durant, Dallas hopes his veteran experiences gives the secondary a boost in coverage across the board.
