FRISCO, Texas — What a damn ride that was against the Eagles, and it's too bad the Cowboys could only enjoy the historic comeback victory for as long as it takes to blink. Four days later, they're back on the field at AT&T Stadium to host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

If you find yourself looking for headlines or reasons to watch this one, check your pulse. Everyone knows about Mahomes and the Chiefs, but they're in an unusual spot in that they're not running away with the AFC and actually find themselves in back-alley brawls weekly, currently fighting for a playoff berth as they visit the Cowboys.

Ah, the Cowboys, a 3-5-1 team before the trade deadline saw them land both Logan Wilson and world-beating defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and, along with the return of DeMarvion Overshown and Malik Hooker, and the debut of Shavon Revel, plus the leveled-up play of Caelen Carson, suddenly it's a 5-5-1 team that just completed a historic 21-point comeback against the defending champion Eagles.

WHEN AND WHERE:

Date: Thanksgiving Day
Time: 3:30 p.m. CT
Location: AT&T Stadium (Arlington, TX)

And that was just four days before this game kicks off on CBS, with the entire nation watching over turkey and all the helpings.

That means the Cowboys are clawing for a potential playoff berth as well, and have the chance to up the odds by doing something the NFL has never seen before: defeating the two teams that appeared in the previous Super Bowl within a span of only four days. And then there's the East Texas connection at play here for Overshown and Mahomes, something that makes an already must-see matchup that much more so.

Grab your plate, pull up a chair and enjoy the show, folks.
