FRISCO, Texas — Do not go quietly into that dying light, Dallas Cowboys. Rage, rage against the dying of the light as the 2025 regular season comes to a close against the New York Giants in Week 18, with no playoffs to come thereafter but plenty of pride, bragging rights and culture very much on the line.
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys want to avoid a second consecutive losing season, and the only way to do that will be to sweep Big Blue this season, but they'll have to go to MetLife Stadium to make it happen at the turn of the new calendar year.
And considering the plan is for Prescott to get his 17th start, don't expect the Cowboys offense to mail it in to end their season.
WHEN AND WHERE:
Date: Sunday, January 4
Time: Noon CT
Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, NJ)
The bigger question will be on Dallas' defense, and if they can or can not contain rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. It's not as if Dart has been lighting up the league in his debut season, but the Cowboys' defense has been known to struggle … regularly … regardless of who the quarterback is on the other side of the line of scrimmage; and especially when they're of the mobile variety.
So as the two bitter NFC East rivals line up to try and ruin each other's New Year, you'd be wise to tune in and watch, considering the next meaningful Cowboys' football game is approximately nine months away.
