Cowboys Draft A 3rd CB; FSU's Marquez White Selected In Sixth Round

With the 216th pick in the sixth round the Cowboys selected Florida State cornerback Marquez White. A full breakdown:

Name: Marquez White

Position: Cornerback

College:Florida State

Height/Weight: 6-0/194 pounds

The Rundown: White started at cornerback in his final two seasons for the Seminoles and comes into the league with good size and arm length for the position. He was a senior captain last season with six passes defended, two interceptions and 25 tackles, earning him an invitation to the Senior Bowl. He also played on the basketball team for Florida State, which competes in the ACC, considered the best conference in college basketball.

How He Fits In: The Cowboys lost veteran cornerbacks Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr to free agency and have looked to the draft to replace them. Dallas selected Chidobe Awuzie (Colorado) in the second round and Jourdan Lewis (Michigan) in the third round, both cornerbacks. Along with Orlando Scandrick and second-year player Anthony Brown, the rookies will be expected to contribute immediately. White serves as further insurance and will compete with Awuzie and Lewis for position on the depth chart come training camp.

Next Cowboys Pick: 7th round (228th overall)
