Cummings Day To Day After Thumb Surgery

ARLINGTON, Texas – Inside linebacker Kenwin Cummings sported large cast on his right hand during Wednesday morning's walkthrough following minor surgery to relieve swelling in his thumb.

"He had to get it addressed (Tuesday) afternoon," head coach Jason Garrett said. "It seems like it's going to be OK. We're hopeful he can be back in the next couple of days and be ready to play."

Cummings has tallied a team-high nine tackles in two preseason games as a backup to Bradie James and Sean Lee. He's in contention for a job, particularly with second-round pick Bruce Carter still recovering from last December's knee surgery.
