Deal Expected For Other 4th-Rounder

IRVING, Texas --Rookie safety Matt Johnson on Thursday became the fifth of seven draft picks to agree to terms, and a contract with fellow fourth-rounder Kyle Wilber is expected to be finalized soon.

Signing Wilber, perhaps as soon as the end of the week to a four-year deal, will leave only first-round pick Morris Claiborne unsigned.

Wilber, an outside linebacker out of Wake Forest, missed all nine OTA's and this week's veteran minicamp after breaking his finger on the second day of rookie minicamp in early May.

Surgical pins were placed in Wilber's finger to facilitate healing, and the Cowboys have been cautious with him, eyeing training camp for his return to practice.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said he anticipated several draft picks to sign this week. Although the issue of offset language regarding guaranteed money seems to be delaying negotiations with top-10 draft picks around the league, the Cowboys still expect to get Claiborne signed and into camp on time.
