Defensive Tackle Brent Jailed After Second Failed Drug Test

IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was arrested Thursday afternoon after a second failed drug test, according to multiple reports.

Brent tested positive for marijuana for the second time this offseason in a test administered June 19, according to the reports. Brent landed in the news earlier this month when it was revealed he had failed a prior drug test, administered in May as part of the requirements for his bond.

A July 19 hearing was scheduled to determine if Brent's first positive test was enough to declare his bond insufficient. But Dallas County prosecutors filed for Brent's arrest after the second positive test last week.

Brent is still set to face trial later this year for his connection in the December car crash that killed Cowboys teammate Jerry Brown.
