IRVING, Texas- The Cowboys made a few roster moves on Tuesday, highlighted by the decision to put Justin Durant on injured reserve with a lingering hamstring injury.

The club also waived defensive tackle Drake Nevis and linebacker Kyle Bosworth. Running back George Winn was cut from the practice squad.

The moves open up a few roster spots as the Cowboys have officially re-signed linebacker Orie Lemon, who was cut last week to make room Edgar Jones.

By Thursday, the Cowboys are also expected to add veteran receiver/special teams ace Michael Spurlock, who reunites with special teams coach Rich Bisaccia for the third time. Spurlock played for the coach in both Tampa Bay and San Diego.

With another roster spot to fill, the Cowboys are also expected to sign a defensive line from another practice squad. [embedded_ad]

The club is expected to sign linebacker Jonathan Stewart to the practice squad.

Nevis and Bosworth were both added to the team back in September. Bosworth played some fullback in short-yardage situations and was tied for first on the team with 12 special teams tackles. But with all of the injuries at linebacker, Bosworth was never a strong consideration to play on defense.

Nevis had 16 tackles in 11 games as a rotational linemen.

Durant had 30 tackles this year, starting seven games. He missed three straight with a hamstring injury and returned last week to replace Sean Lee in the middle. Durant then re-tweaked his hamstring injury and will now be on the shelf for the rest of the year.
