Fans Can Vote For Murray For Weekly FedEx Rushing Award

IRVING, Texas – For the second time in four weeks, DeMarco Murray has been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week.

Murray is one of three rushers fans can vote for at NFL.com/FedEx for the weekly award, among Minnesota's Jerick McKinnon and Kansas City's Jamaal Charles.

Murray rushed for 149 yards on 24 carries with a season-high two touchdowns in the Cowboys' 38-17 win over the Saints. He was not only nominated for this award two weeks ago, but won the fans vote after his 167 rushing yards against the Titans.

With his fourth straight game of at least 100 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown, Murray became just the fourth player in NFL history to start off a season in such a way, joining elite company of Jim Brown, O.J. Simpson and Emmitt Smith.

On the passing part of the award, Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers and Joe Flacco are the three candidates.

Fans can vote until Thursday at 2 p.m. (CDT). If Murray wins again, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to the Dallas chapter of the American Red Cross.

Murray has won this weekly award three times in his career with Julius Jones becoming the only other Cowboys back to be honored by FedEx, by winning the award in 2004 and 2005.
