Free, Kosier, 3 Others Officially Re-sign

The Cowboys are slowly piecing their roster back together.

Offensive tackle Doug Free and guard Kyle Kosier have officially signed their new contracts after agreeing to terms earlier in the week. Three more veterans have been re-signed, too: defensive back Alan Ball, cornerback Bryan McCann and wide receiver Jesse Holley.

B all, a restricted free agent, received an original draft choice tender worth roughly $1.2 million. McCann and Holley were exclusive rights free agents.

All are now permitted to attend team meetings, but they can't practice until the start of the New League Year. Right now it's scheduled for next Thursday, Aug. 4.

Defensive ends Marcus Spears and Kenyon Coleman are expected to arrive in San Antonio on Saturday to review and sign their new contracts. They also will have to wait until Aug. 4 to practice.

The Cowboys also signed rookie free agent defensive end Lawon Scott (Ole Miss) and running back Frank Warren (Grambling). Warren will add depth while Tashard Choice (calf) and rookie DeMarco Murray (hamstring) are out.
