Full 2016 Draft Class Under Contract After 3rd-Rounder Collins Signs

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys signed third-round pick Maliek Collins to a four-year deal on Wednesday and now have their entire nine-man 2016 draft class under contract.

Collins, the 67th overall pick, had eight sacks in three seasons at Nebraska playing defensive tackle.

By the end of May, the Cowboys had reached deals with their other eight draft picks: running back Ezekiel Elliott, linebacker Jaylon Smith, defensive end Charles Tapper, quarterback Dak Prescott, cornerback Anthony Brown, safety Kavon Frazier, running back Darius Jackson and tight end Rico Gathers.

The Cowboys believe Collins can be an impact player on the defensive line, but right now he's focused on getting healthy. Collins (6-2, 311) had surgery in May for a broken foot suffered during OTAs. The timetable has been 10-12 weeks, which means he tentatively could return near the end of preseason.
