Manusky Headed To Chargers Instead

Greg Manusky, who interviewed for the Cowboys' defensive coordinator vacancy this week, is taking the same job in San Diego. The Chargers announced his hiring on their official Web site.

In the last week, Manusky has interviewed for the Panthers' head coaching vacancy (filled by Ron Rivera) and defensive coordinator vacancies in Arizona and Dallas.

Manusky worked three seasons in San Diego (2004-06) as linebackers coach under Wade Phillips. He's obviously well-regarded around the league and was on the Cowboys' short list, but scratch him off now.

Vic Fangio, who interviewed at Valley Ranch this week, is reportedly joining Jim Harbaugh with the 49ers.
