No Tackling In Joint Chargers Practices

ARLINGTON, Texas --Don't expect a true preview of Sunday's preseason game during the Cowboys-Chargers hold joint practice sessions Thursday and Friday.

Head coach Jason Garrett said tackling won't be allowed in either workout. Thursday at Valley Ranch will look like a normal practice. Friday's work at Cowboys Stadium will be more situational, much like the Cowboys' Blue-White scrimmage in San Antonio.

"Both organizations feel like it's a good opportunity to just work against another team," Garrett said. "See some different looks, see some different players and just see how our players and our team responds to it."

The teams have structural similarities. Both run a 3-4 defense, and Garrett's offense is heavily influenced by Chargers head coach Norv Turner, his offensive coordinator in Dallas back in the '90s.
