Practice Report: Bryant, Murray, Hatcher Sit Out

IRVING, Texas – The miraculous game-winning touchdown catch turned long incompletion to wide receiver Dez Bryant may have hurt more than the Cowboys' record.

Bryant, who came up hobbling a bit after falling on his hip in the back of the end zone, was not at the media portion of Wednesday's practice. Defensive end Jason Hatcher was on the field but not dressed out, while tight end Jason Witten practiced with a sleeve on his leg.

Below are a few more notable absences from Wednesday's practice, which was in shorts and shoulder pads:

  • Head coach Jason Garrett said at his press conference prior to practice he didn't anticipate DeMarco Murray doing much Wednesday. Murray wasn't practicing during the morning workout, as he recovers from a sprained foot.
  • Linebacker Dan Connor and safety Matt Johnson both were on the field but not fully dressed out or wearing their helmets, and didn't appear to be practicing Wednesday. Connor left Sunday's game with a neck strain, while Johnson was out after reinjuring his hamstring again last week. Linebackers Ernie Sims and Orie Lemon earned the majority of playing time against the Giants in Connor's absence.
  • Center Phil Costa continued to sit out with an ankle injury.
