Practice Update: Tony Romo Gets Another Full Day

Typically, it’s not news when a starting quarterback continues to practice throughout a game week. But considering the time he got off at practice in the preseason to rest his surgically repaired back and the possibility that periodic rest would continue during the regular season, it’s a good sign for the Cowboys. Head coach Jason Garrett confirmed Romo would be full go once again Thursday after showing up as a full participant in Wednesday’s practice report. “Yeah, he feels good this morning,” Garrett said. “We anticipate him practicing today and we would anticipate that as it goes on. Just like with any player, you would evaluate how he’s doing, how he’s feeling and then come up with how you would want him to work. But we do anticipate him being able to practice throughout this season.” The Cowboys have eased Romo back into action throughout the offseason and preseason to make sure he’s ready this Sunday against the 49ers. Sometimes, that meant sitting out the second of a back-to-back practice or getting limited reps, but it doesn’t appear Romo will need that as he prepares for his first regular season game since the offseason back surgery. It's possible Romo gets rest days throughout the year, but that hasn't been the case in his first week of the season.
