Romo Needs Votes To Claim Weekly FedEx Air & Ground Award

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is among three candidates for the weekly FedEx Air & Ground Player of the Week award.

Romo had a perfect second half in Sunday's 38-33 win over the Eagles, completing all 10 passes, including three touchdowns and finished the game with a career-high 150.5 quarterback rating. Romo passed for 303 yards, completing 22 of 27 passes overall to improve the Cowboys to 6-6 and remain in the hunt of the NFC playoff race.

The other quarterbacks for the "Air" award include Seattle's Russell Wilson and Kansas City's Brady Quinn. The "Ground" award candidates are Cincinnati's Ben Jarvus Green-Ellis, Minnesota's Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles of the Chiefs.

Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com/FedEx from Tuesday to 2 p.m. CST on Friday. The winners will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

As part of the Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players' names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team's city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.

Romo was nominated back in Week 1 when he threw for three touchdowns in a season-opening win over the Giants.

Last season, he was nominated four times, but only won once, after a 23 of 26 passing effort against Buffalo that included three touchdowns.
