Rookie Watch: WR Greenberry Hopes To Match Collegiate Productivity

(Editor's Note: With the offseason practices now complete, the Cowboys will take some downtime before departing for training camp on July 28. Until then, let's focus on some of the more unknown rookies on this team, fighting for a roster spot. Today's featured player is wide receiver Deontay Greenberry

Name: Deontay Greenberry
Position: Wide Receiver
College: Houston
Height/Weight: 6-3 / 200

Acquired: Undrafted Free Agent

Collegiate Career:Greenberry left school after his junior year, but still ranked eighth on Houston's all-time receiving list with 201 catches. He was just the sixth player in school history to record two seasons of at least 70 receptions.

Did You Know?A five-star recruit from Fresno, Calif., Greenberry was the highest-recruited player ever to attend the University of Houston.

2015 Outlook:Super-productive college player who like many of these other rookie receivers, figured to be drafted in the later rounds. Greenberry battled some minor injuries in the OTAs but started to round into form during the minicamp, making several contested catches. At 6-3, he's tied with Devin Street as the tallest receiver on the roster.

Scout's Take:Will come back to the ball and high point the pass. Would not call him an accomplished route runner, but does a nice job of catching the ball on the move. Will snatch the ball and head up the field. Doesn't have breakaway speed, although is very physical with the ball in his hands. Not the quickest off the line. Plays like a tough kid. – Bryan Broaddus
