OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys continue to churn the bottom of the roster as they returned to practice on Tuesday in Oxnard.

The Cowboys signed two players after working them out Tuesday morning. The club signed defensive end Jabari Fletcher (6-3, 260), who last played for the San Jose SaberCats in the Arena Football League. He also played in the NFL for both Arizona and Jacksonville in 2012.

The club worked out guard Dennis Godfrey, a teammate of Fletcher's in San Jose. Godfrey (6-3, 335) played last season at Wake Forest.

The team waived punter Spencer Benton and defensive end Monte Taylor. Both players were sent home after the morning walk through.

Benton had four punts and a 29.0 yard average in Sunday's game against Miami. The rookie free agent from Clemson also handled kickoffs and had two touchbacks.

Taylor, a two-year veteran from Cincinnati, was credited with one tackle for loss in the 24-20 win over Miami.

The moves keep the Cowboys at a full roster of 90 players although defensive end Tyrone Crawford (torn Achilles) will be placed on injured reserve in two weeks when the team trims the roster to 75.
