ARLINGTON, Texas – Anthony Spencer will return to the inactive list Sunday against St. Louis.

The Pro Bowl defensive end is the most notable Cowboy player on the inactive list for Week 3, which also includes linebacker Ernie Sims, running back Joseph Randle, guard David Arkin, offensive tackle Darrion Weems, tight end Andre Smith and newly-acquired defensive tackle David Carter.

This is the second straight week that Randle is among the inactives, while it is the first week on the active roster for wide receiver Cole Beasley.

Spencer was limited in practice all week following his season debut against Kansas City on Sept. 15. His lingering knee injury has been one of the dominant storylines of the Cowboys' young season. The projection has been that it would take Spencer several weeks to return to full game shape, but the Cowboys were hopeful he would be able to play against the Rams. [embedded_ad]

Guard Brian Waters is also active for the second straight week, though it remains to be seen how much he will play.
