Tashard Choice Lands With Rival Redskins

IRVING, Texas --The Cowboys may see Tashard Choice in three weeks. The recently-cut running back has been claimed by division rival Washington, who's on the schedule for Nov. 20 at FedEx Field.

To make room for rookie Bruce Carter on the active roster against Philadelphia, the Cowboys cut Choice on Saturday partly because of a hamstring injury that could sideline him a couple of weeks. Because he was claimed off waivers, the Cowboys will not have to pay an injury settlement.

Choice had 30 carries for 84 yards in six career games against the Redskins. His fumble just before halftime in last year's opener at Washington was among the mistakes that led to a 13-7 loss.

The Redskins sought another running back with Tim Hightower suffering a season-ending knee injury.
