Ticket Sales Begin For The Star Kickoff Event Presented By Whataburger

FRISCO, Texas – Tickets for The Star in Frisco's grand opening event, presented by Whataburger, went on sale today. The Star is the 91-acre campus that will be the new Dallas Cowboys World Corporate Headquarters and where all eight Frisco ISD high schools will play home football games.

On Saturday, Aug. 27, all eight Frisco ISD high school varsity teams will play in four games at the first event at The Star. All games will take place in the Ford Center, The Star's state-of-the-art, 510,000 square-foot indoor athletic facility to be shared by the Dallas Cowboys, the City of Frisco and Frisco ISD.

Tickets for the event are anticipated to be a sellout and went on sale to Frisco ISD students, parents and employees on June 2. Nearly 10,000 tickets have already sold since that date.

"This is the hottest ticket in town and it was imperative our students, families and staff were the first to purchase tickets," said Jeremy Lyon, Superintendent, Frisco ISD. "This venue presents increasing opportunities for students from programs including athletics, fine arts and broadcast journalism, and will continue doing so long into the future."

Family owned and operated burger company, Whataburger, will sponsor the grand opening event at The Star. Whataburger's partnership with the Cowboys includes sponsorship of the Cowboys High School Coach of the Week Program and "Friday Night Stars," highlighting high school football at AT&T Stadium.

"Whataburger and high school football are two great Texas traditions, so this opportunity felt like a natural fit for us," said Rich Scheffler, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, Whataburger. "We've called Dallas home for more than 50 years, and we're proud to partner with the Cowboys organization to support youth sports and invest in our local students."

The schedule for The Star Kickoff Presented by Whataburger is as follows:

Session 1

Game 1: 9:00 a.m. – Reedy High School vs. Independence High School

Game 2: 12:30 p.m. – Lone Star High School vs. Heritage High School

Session 2

Game 3: 5:30 p.m. – Liberty High School vs. Wakeland High School

Game 4: 8:30 p.m. – Frisco High School vs. Centennial High School

As Frisco ISD is such an instrumental part of The Star in Frisco, the Cowboys want to ensure the first players on the field in The Star are Frisco ISD students.

"It was so important to us that the first players within Ford Center were Frisco ISD students," said Charlotte Jones Anderson, Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, Dallas Cowboys. "The Star Kickoff presented by Whataburger celebrates the important relationship that we've built between the City of Frisco, the Frisco ISD and the Dallas Cowboys, and what better way to showcase that relationship than a true kickoff with high school football and the student athletes who embody the passion of football in the state of Texas."

The Star Kickoff Presented by Whataburger will be divided into two sessions, with tickets being sold per session. The Ford Center will be cleared between games two and three. Tickets for each session will be $6 for students and $12 for adults. Tickets can be purchased online at dallascowboys.com/thestarkickoff, tickets.friscoisd.org, or using cash or credit at the Frisco ISD athletic office.
