Although the Cowboys haven't made announcements about veteran cuts, the expected departures of Marion Barber and Roy Williams can be turned into the league office at 3:01 p.m. (CT).
Guard Leonard Davis also has reportedly been informed of his release, though the Cowboys still seemed to be debating the move on Tuesday. Kicker Kris Brown also isn't expected back. There's still some uncertainty about offensive tackle Marc Colombo with first-rounder Tyron Smith on the team.
One other note: free agents like Doug Free and Kyle Kosier can be officially signed at 5 p.m. Friday, but they can't do any on-field work until the start of the New League Year. Right now that's next Thursday, Aug. 4, but the date could be moved up.
