Why Cole Beasley Has "Mixed Feelings" About His Circus Catch vs. Giants

FRISCO, Texas – Cole Beasley's spectacular juggling, behind-the-head catch against the New York Giants has gone viral in the last 48 hours.

Beasley's impressions after seeing it on film: Meh.

The veteran receiver was actually "critical" of his route-running near the sideline in that situation.

"I have mixed feelings about it," he said Tuesday. "If I would've done what I was supposed to do, I would've just caught it the first time and probably went back to the ball a little more and instead of almost letting the DB get it.

"It probably could have been prevented by just getting my head around a little quicker and making a better move on the ball earlier. I kind of just fell into it."

Teammate Brice Butler wasn't surprised Beasley made the play – a 7-yard gain on third-and-6 with the Cowboys leading 16-3 early in the fourth quarter – given the types of acrobatic catches Beasley and the rest of the receivers make in practice.

Still, it was impressive.

"It looked like the eyes in the back of his head told him where the ball was and he caught it," Butler said.
