With Church Hurt, Safety Depth An Issue

IRVING, Texas --The Cowboys are searching for running back depth to replace DeMarco Murray (fractured ankle) this week, but safety depth is another priority with backup Barry Church separating his shoulder against the Giants as well.

Church was in and out of the game Sunday and it appears he could miss significant time going forward. If so, the Cowboys must explore options there, particularly with fellow backup Danny McCray playing on a sore ankle as well.

Church (25 tackles) has contributed in Rob Ryan's defensive sub-packages this season at safety and even linebacker. He also entered Sunday's game with 11 special teams tackles, ranking fourth.
