Don't Forget About These Five: Several Drive-Extending Plays

ARLINGTON, Texas – There were several highlight plays for the Cowboys in their 38-33 win over the Eagles on Sunday night, but like always, here are a handful of plays that might go under the radar, but nonetheless, played a factor in the outcome.

(Plays listed in chronological order)

Cowboys win:

Witten for 15 –The Cowboys were trailing 14-3 and after a holding penalty by right tackle Doug Free, it was second-and-19 from their 16. Just being conservative and punting was an option, but instead, Romo found tight end Jason Witten over the middle for 15 yards. It set up a manageable third-and-4, which the quarterback converted to Witten for 5. In fact, the Cowboys had two more key third-down pickups on the drive that led to a DeMarco Murray touchdown.

Murray bounces outside – The Cowboys have struggled on third-and-1 all year and it looked like Murray would be stuffed on another attempt, but he bounced to the outside for 27 yards to the Eagles 31. It led to a game-tying touchdown from Romo to Dez Bryant.

Fourth-down reversal –This play isn't easily forgotten, but it was a pivotal turning point. The Cowboys trailed 24-17 and had fourth-and-1 at the Eagles' 39 when it appeared Murray had the first down, according to the side judge's spot. But the measurement had the Cowboys inches short. A challenge by head coach Jason Garrett led to a rare reversal of the spot. After the re-measure, the Cowboys got a first down and then marched in for the tying score.

Third-down stop – The Eagles were looking for a go-ahead touchdown, but had to settle for a field goal on third-and-3 at the Cowboys' 24. Quarterback Nick Foles had plenty of time in the pocket, but couldn't find an open receiver. He lofted a pass toward the end zone for tight end Clay Harbor, but it was overthrown. The Eagles kicked the field goal for the lead, but it opened the door for the Cowboys on the next drive.

Lob to Bryant –Bryant had just gotten back from the locker room where he needed an IV for cramps, but on third-and-2 and trailing by three, the Cowboys called on the receiver for a huge play. Romo lofted a pass to Bryant, who made the 35-yard completion to the Eagles' 40. He would score on a 6-yard catch and run to take the lead moments later.
