Mailbag: Where Would Gregory Rank In This Draft Class? Marcus Martin's Role?

LANDON CABELL

If Randy Gregory was in this 2018 draft class, where would you rank him based solely on tape and traits alone? Would the Cowboys even have a shot at 19 or would he be another trade up target?

Nick: I think he'd probably be the best pass-rusher in the group. He would rank around the Top 10 just like he did two years ago. But then again, his ability has never been the issue. And at this point, I think it's a non-issue. If he ever plays again, I don't expect him to be the player he was when he first got to the Cowboys.

Bryan: I wasn't as high on Gregory as most coming out. This is a weak group of edge rushers so he'd likely go pretty high. Feel like that Arden Key is the same in this draft. Super-talented player, but with those off-the-field questions might slide a bit.

I didn't see any kind of report on Marcus Martin after he signed. I'm not really familiar with him. Is he a potential starter or being seen as a reliable backup in most probability?

Nick: I think this offensive line is rather deep all of a sudden. I'm not one who thinks Cameron Fleming automatically starts. I think he will be the swing tackle when it's all said and done. That means Martin has a good chance to start. I say all of this because I just don't think Collins should move to guard. But they will figure out. Paul Alexander is one of the best line coaches in the league and I'm sure he's going to have a plan for all of these linemen.

Bryan: My gut tells me that La'el Collins is going to move back to guard and Fleming or a draft choice will be the tackle. Martin has some starter traits. Saw him as similar to Denver's Ronald Leary when he first got to the Cowboys. Big man that will have to develop his game. Guy has a chance to be a good signing.
