FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys' trip to Mile High in Denver wasn't a very enjoyable one, with Dallas falling to the Broncos 44-24.

From another defensive performance that allowed the Broncos offense to march down the field, to a struggling day for the Cowboys' offense that had otherwise been red-hot, things did not go according to play.

Dallas now falls to 3-4-1 on the season, with the Arizona Cardinals coming to town on Monday Night Football next week, giving the Cowboys an opportunity to get to .500 before going into the bye week.

Let's dive into the numbers from the Cowboys' fourth loss of the season on Sunday afternoon:

0

For the second time this season, the Cowboys finished the game without a sack on the quarterback. The only other game where Dallas has gone without a sack was in Week 3 at Chicago. Donovan Ezeiruaku had three of Dallas' seven pressures, and was the only Cowboys defender with more than one pressure.

2.5

Time to throw for quarterbacks is measured by 2.5 seconds, of which throws before that threshold are considered "quick passes," while those that are over 2.5 seconds could be more longer-developing. On passes that came out in under 2.5 seconds, Prescott was 12 of 16 for 87 yards against the Broncos. When he had more than 2.5 seconds to throw, he was 7/15 for 101 yards and two interceptions.

7

The number of catches CeeDee Lamb had on Sunday is also the number he needs to tie Dez Bryant for third-most in franchise history. Lamb has 524 career receptions in just 86 games played. Seven more would tie Dez, who had 531 catches in 113 games with the Cowboys. With eight more, Lamb would only trail Jason Witten (1,215) and Michael Irvin (750) for most in team history.

7.5

The Broncos offense averaged 7.5 yards per play on Sunday against the Cowboys defense. Usually, that would be close to if not the most yards per play a team gives up all year. For Dallas, it's the second highest yards per play total they've give up in 2025, with the Giants averaging 8.2 yards per play in Week 2.

8

Javonte Williams has eight rushing touchdowns this year in the first eight games of the season. That's a rare feat for the Cowboys, who haven't seen that accomplishment in 26 years. Not since Emmitt Smith had 10 rushing scores in the first eight games has a Cowboys running backs produced at least eight in eight.

11

Dallas' defense allowed 11 plays where the Broncos gained 10 or more yards offensively, and a grand total of 196 yards of offense and two touchdowns came on those explosive plays.

20

Dating back to the first quarter of Week 4 against Green Bay, the Cowboys have scored in 20 consecutive quarters, including overtime. It's the longest active streak in the NFL.

50

On four red zone trips, the Cowboys offense was only able to capitalize with a touchdown on two of their four trips. The first came with Dallas settling for a field goal on the opening possession after getting to the one-yard line, with the second missed chance being Dak Prescott's second interception of the afternoon in the fourth quarter.

62.5

The Broncos had little trouble extending drives on Sunday. Denver converted 5-of-8 third-down attempts for a 62.5 clip. The eight attempts on third-down is tied for the fewest all season. The Panthers also had eight third-down tries and converted just three. As far as percentage goes, the 62.5 is second-highest for Cowboys opponents this year behind the Packers, who went 10-of-14 for 71.4 percent.

80

Once again, penalties were an issue for the Cowboys both from a procedural stand point as well as action penalties. Dallas had nine accepted penalties and 80 penalty yards because of it, although there were many others that were ultimately declined.
