FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys came home on Christmas night cheerful after a 30-23 win over the Washington Commanders.

Dallas now improves to 7-8-1 on the season, with one game remaining to try and finish the year at .500, an improvement record-wise over 2024's 7-10 season.

In his career when fully healthy, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott has never had a losing season. Dallas will look to keep it that way next week against the New York Giants.

Let's take a look at some other stats and numbers from Thursday afternoon:

4.8

The Cowboys averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 44 total rushes against the Commanders, leading to a season-high 211 rushing yards as a team. The last time Dallas had a 200+ yard rushing performance was in 2024 against Carolina, where they also ran for 211 yards.

5.5

Jadeveon Clowney is now tied with James Houston for the sacks lead with 5.5. Clowney had 1.5 sacks against the Commanders to go along with three tackles for loss.

6

The Cowboys were a perfect 6-for-6 on fourth-down conversions, including the final play of the game to seal the win. The Cowboys became the first team in NFL history since 1991 (the furthest the league tracks fourth-down stats).

7

The Cowboys have matched last year's win total with one game to play. Brian Schottenheimer has a shot to lead the Cowboys to eight wins next week against the Giants. Schottenheimer can become the sixth Cowboys coach to reach at least .500 in his first season on the sideline.

16

Brandon Aubrey has made at least one field goal in every game this year. He's the first player in Cowboys history to make a field goal in 16 games in franchise history.

30

The Cowboys scored 30 against the Commanders on Thursday, marking the eighth time this season the Cowboys have hit the 30-point mark. Dallas is 6-1-1 in these eight games this year. The Cowboys are averaging 26.5 points per game, but allowing 29.8 per game.

37

With the win over the Commanders on Sunday, Dak Prescott picked up his 37th career win over NFC East opponents, compared to just nine losses as a starter. In 2025, Dallas is 4-1 against the division with one game remaining against the New York Giants next week.

38

The Cowboys were sacked a season-high six times for a loss of 38 yards. More importantly, led to more hits than the Cowboys ever want Dak Prescott to take. That alone could factor into the decision whether or not to play QB1 in next week's finale against the Giants.

86

KaVontae Turpin's second-quarter touchdown was the longest play from scrimmage for the Cowboys this year and the third-longest pass play for any NFL player this year. Turpin's 86-yard touchdown is also the longest play in NFL history on Christmas Day.

87

The Cowboys ran their most offensive plays in regulation in a game since 2000 with 87. It also resulted in 38:44 in time of possession, the most in a game since 2023.
