FRISCO, Texas – Former Cowboys center Travis Frederick was inducted into the University of Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame on May 29, after a four-year career with the Badgers from 2009-2012.
Frederick, who is from Walworth, Wisconsin, made an instant impact at his hometown university, becoming the first true freshman to ever start a season opening game for the Badgers.
It was the start of an incredible run for both Frederick and Wisconsin, as they would go on to win three straight Big Ten conference championships from 2010-12.
In Fredrick's final collegiate season in 2012, he was selected as a team captain and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors after starting all 13 games at center.
It was an appropriate end to a historic collegiate career, and an honor that meant the world to Frederick.
"This was never something that I could have ever even dreamed of," Frederick told reporters. "You come here as a kid coming out of high school, and you're trying to figure out what you're going to do the rest of your life, and I just was looking for an education."
"So I came to the great University of Wisconsin to get that, but the people you meet and the lessons you learn along the way, that's the real gift that you get when you're here. And today, being able to be inducted into the Hall of Fame is such an honor that I could have never even dreamt of it."
The Cowboys drafted Frederick in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, where he was the first rookie in Cowboys history to start every game at center in his first season, and went on to be selected to five Pro Bowls and was a First-Team All-Pro in 2016.
