Past/Present: Witten, Woodson among 25 HOF semifinalists

To no surprise, both Jason Witten and Darren Woodson were among the semifinalists announced on Tuesday for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class.

Witten, in his first year of eligibility, is considered one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and has the stats to back it up. He's also one of the greatest players – at any position – in Cowboys history, leading the team in receptions, receiving yards, games played and is tied for the most Pro Bowl appearances with 11.

As for Woodson, he's no stranger to making it this far in the process. In fact, Woodson has been a finalists (final 15 candidates) the last three years but is hoping this is the year he finally gets the call. Woodson is the Cowboys' all-time leading tackler and is a member of the Ring of Honor, having made five Pro Bowls and being a key member of three Super Bowl teams in the 1990s.

The HOF committee will trim the list down to 15 finalists before revealing the 2026 Hall of Fame class during the NFL Honors show before the Super Bowl next February.
