There's strong sentiment to trade back from one of the two first-round picks to get more picks, but is there a scenario where you could see the Cowboys trading up for a player? So instead of having two firsts, we have a high first and a second? Matt McGinnis/Hugo, MN

Patrik: There's always a chance something unexpected happens in the NFL Draft, so I wouldn't eliminate the Cowboys from a trade-up scenario, but I do think it's highly unlikely. Already without a pick in the second or third round, as you said, they're looking for a way to get back into Day 2 somehow, and trading up defeats that purpose. Is there a chance someone they absolutely love falls near No. 12 or No. 20 (assuming they still have the latter at the time) and tempts them to pull the trigger for a move north? Possibly, because never say never in late April. But, for my money, I'd stick and pick or trade down, not up.

Tommy: I can see it happening. On the draft show, we've talked about a lot of scenarios where Dallas is wiped out of who they would want at 12 on defense. If that's the case, could a team like Cleveland picking at six give the Cowboys a chance to take the player they want? If Dallas does decide to move up, I'd be shocked if they did it before draft night. It would probably be a scenario where someone is still on the board there when a team like Cleveland is on the clock, and the Cowboys will look to package their two firsts to move up and, like you said, hope to get a second back in return. With the depth of this draft, I don't think it would be a bad move at all.
