While Dak Prescott has been playing at a mostly MVP level this year, I haven't heard anything about him being Comeback Player of the Year. Based on his injury last year and his level of play this year, do you think this is a possibility? Of course, my hope is that he is league MVP, Comeback Player of the Year and Super Bowl MVP. – John Scholl/Vancouver, WA

Nick: I hope he doesn't, mainly because it seems like they try to split some of the awards and make sure two of them don't go to the same player. If the Cowboys could somehow manage to keep this streak going and get into the playoff picture, then he might be in the conversation for MVP like you mentioned.

But while that seems a little farfetched, just being in the conversation ... AND ... coming back from a tough injury last year makes him a great candidate for the award. I don't know all of the other players that are in the conversation but it seems like Christian McCaffrey and Daniel Jones are both in the mix. I think what Jones is doing in Indy is very special. You don't always have to come back from an injury, it can be a circumstance as well.

That being said, George Pickens has had quite a comeback, too. But if Dak doesn't lead this team all the way back and he's short of the MVP talk, I think Comeback Player of the Year would still be a great honor for him.

Kurt: After missing nine games last season due to his hamstring injury, Prescott is definitely in the running for Comeback Player of the Year in 2025, although he may not be the favorite to win just yet. San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffery played only four games in 2024 due to injuries, but now back at full strength, he's among league leaders in both rushing and receiving yards. McCaffery is also leading the NFL in touches and yards from scrimmage while ranking third overall in touchdowns.

But Prescott is right there with him, topping the league in completions and passing yards, sitting second in touchdown throws and ranking among the top 10 in several other categories. He's playing better than ever, and his leadership is unquestioned. If he can keep up this pace, and the Cowboys can get into the playoffs – perhaps leapfrogging the 49ers in the process – Prescott would seem a shoo-in for the Comeback Player award.

The same goes with the NFL's MVP honor. He's facing stiff competition right now from the likes of Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Patriots' passer Drake Maye, as well as Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor. However, if the Cowboys continue this win streak, it will undoubtedly be because of Prescott, which will deserve recognition.

As far as that last award you mention, let's just hope he, or any Cowboys player for that matter, has the opportunity to add that to his trophy case.
