Do you think the new offensive line coach along with the new offensive coordinator will help Tyler Guyton play up to his potential? I am a big Sooners fan, and I believe in Guyton. – Jerry Spain/Frisco, TX

Patrik: I believe it will help, but not as much as he can help himself, and he's taken steps toward the latter. Reworking his entire diet, hitting the weight room and conditioning hard, training in the rain (no, seriously) and working with future Hall of Fame offensive tackle Tyron Smith make for a potent concoction of variables that have a great likelihood of paying off for Guyton in a major way — as will another year of learning how to play alongside All-Pro left guard Tyler Smith. There's no denying, in my opinion, that Guyton has the chops to be a dominant starter in the league. I'm of the belief that some, most actually, simply have to experience the NFL before they can know how to adapt to what it brings. If Guyton's work ethic, as insanely strong as it is, can pay off in Year 2, there will be a lot of crow served to a lot of people outside of this building.

Tommy: I think that it'll help, especially considering the offensive coordinator they hired in Klayton Adams has a strong track record of developing the offensive line. That said, I think a lot of Guyton's potential is going to come from himself. Coaches have sung his praises all offseason, and now the biggest part will be available and on the field for training camp unlike last season, where he missed crucial time in his rookie season. The learning that he gets from those reps and the camaraderie gained by playing alongside Tyler Smith more before an actual game setting is only going to help him out more.
