It seems hard to believe that putting Trevon Diggs on the field right now wouldn't be an immediate upgrade. He says he's healthy, so what are we, the fans, missing? – Mark Somma /Winchester, VA

Patrik: There's no way to definitively say without someone cutting through the mud to actually make the statement, publicly, but it's impossible to ignore the Kibbles n' Bits leading to the entrance of the doghouse. Diggs says he's completely healthy and ready to play, and continues to say it to anyone who'll listen. The owner and general manager says he's "not healthy enough". Diggs says, in response to that, he is indeed ready to play. The head coach says he wants to see more consistency in practice. Diggs says he's been showing it in practice and doesn't know what they want to see "now". The disconnect between the two sides feels like it's been present, although worsening since the concussion situation, ever since Diggs opted to train/rehab outside of the facility and, in my opinion, the Micah Parsons trade made things that much more awkward — given the fact Parsons is his best friend. So, is he in the doghouse? I couldn't definitively say yes, but I, along with you, can certainly admit something smells like Alpo around here.

Tommy: At this point, who knows? This saga has become a he said, she said argument on whether or not Diggs is healthy enough to play. Diggs says he is, Jerry Jones says he isn't. Ultimately, the Cowboys are the side of the argument that has the final say, which is activating Diggs or keeping him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season. That decision needs to be made by December 20, when Diggs' 21-day return to practice window closes. As things stand right now, I don't see any reason why there should be any confidence that Diggs returns to the field this season, especially with only three games remaining and the postseason all but out of the equation. If that's the case, the better question will be to ask whether or not Diggs is playing for the Cowboys next season.
