Keeping in the spirit of Halloween, what has been a treat for you so far this season, maybe a player who has been an unexpected surprise? Likewise, where do you feel tricked? A case where you thought we'd see more? – Jack Torrance/Estes Park, CO

Patrik: The trick is obvious here, in that the defense, as a whole, is nothing I envisioned for 2025. To that point, I'd like to see more from that unit because if they can at least get to an average ranking and add more takeaways and sacks, this team could potentially do some damage. As for the treats, I'm staring right at Javonte Williams and George Pickens. Those two additions have been magnificently surprising, I'll admit, and not for lack of talent, but simply in how Williams looks better than he ever has at the NFL level and Pickens has indeed taken the next step to become one of the best receivers in the entire league, and not simply a walking "go ball" highlight. I'll also toss in rookie second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku as a treat, because while he's still battling to rack up sacks, his progression hints at an explosion in the near future.
