Biography
1st-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
PRO: The Dallas Cowboys added a big-play threat to their passing game when they traded a 2019 first round pick to Oakland for Amari Cooper on Oct. 22, 2018. Cooper, who was selected by the Raiders fourth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft, earned consecutive Pro Bowl trips after becoming just the third player in NFL history with 1,000 receiving yards and 70 catches in each of his first two seasons. After arriving in Dallas, Cooper led the team with 725 yards and six touchdowns while finishing third with 53 catches. He was named to his third career Pro Bowl following the 2018 season as an injury replacement for Michael Thomas. The 2019 season saw Cooper earn his fourth Pro Bowl selection, again as an injury replacement (Mike Evans), after he led the club in all receiving categories (79 catches for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns). Despite losing Dak Prescott five games into 2020, Cooper was still a sure-handed threat, leading the team with a career-high 92 catches for 1,114 yards and five touchdowns. In six seasons, Cooper has logged five seasons with 1,000 yards and at least 70 catches. Cooper signed a five-year extension with Dallas at the beginning of 2020 free agency.
